The importance of Corporate Social Responsibility at Megablok

Until some time ago, the goals of companies did not go much further than trying to make as much profit as possible, sometimes even engaging in practices or strategies that could endanger the environment, society as a whole or even the health of their own workers.

Today, fortunately, this has changed. While it is true that the objective without which no other objective makes sense is the company's profitability over time and its continuous improvement, this is and will always be the case, it is also true that the greater social awareness of the population and the danger of environmental threats that have already begun to become evident on the planet, have led to the emergence of a term that all companies must now take into account: Corporate Social Responsibility.

What is Corporate Social Responsability?

This term refers to a new business approach through which a series of ethical, social and environmental practices are integrated into all processes and operations that contribute to and positively impact (or at least minimize the negative impact) on nature and the general population.

What quality certificates related to CSR does Megablok hold?

At Megablok, Corporate Social Responsibility is a fundamental pillar for our sustainable growth, and for this reason we take it very seriously, always taking steps forward in the implementation of processes and strategies that have a positive impact on society and the environment. In this way, our company has obtained different quality seals and certifications, which are shown below:

ISO Certifications

The ISO Certifications, obtained following the guidelines of the ISO standards, refer to a series of regulations and standards with international recognition that seek the control and management of quality within companies producing goods or services.

The ISO standards that we currently have in Megablok are:

ISO 9001: Establishes the framework for companies to improve the quality of their products or services and thus meet the needs of their customers, with parameters such as customer focus, leadership, staff participation, focus on processes and continuous improvement.

ISO 14001: This standard is fundamentally related to the management of environmental risks arising from the company's own activity, through their identification and prevention.

ISO 14006: Focused on eco-design, i.e. on the requirements for the integration of environmental aspects in the design and development of the company's products or services throughout the entire creation process.

ISO 45001: This last ISO certification received by Megablok refers to the management of health and safety at work, with a framework that helps companies to improve working conditions, prevent accidents and illnesses at work and promote a safe and healthy physical and psychological working environment.

 

RSA+ 2024

We have recently obtained the Social Responsibility seal of Aragon 2024, awarded by the Government of Aragon, which certifies and rewards companies that work and are committed to aspects of Social Responsibility such as:

- Reconciliation of work and family

- Equality

- Social action

- Dissemination of culture

- Commitment to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals

 

AIDIMME Certification

The AIDIMME Technological Institute, which aims to contribute to increasing competitiveness and innovation in the metal-mechanical, wood, packaging and transport sectors, has awarded us the quality certificate for our metal, melamine and phenolic locker solutions. An award that tests and validates aspects of reliability related to:

- Structural safety

- The strength of the lockers

- The durability of the lockers

Aragón Circular

This certification, granted by the Government of Aragon, is a public recognition to companies and organizations for their commitment to the circular economy model, that is, for the performance of good practices and the development of a management model based on excellence, innovation and sustainability, something that has a direct impact on society, moving from a linear economy to a circular one.

 

Envalora

Finally, we would also like to mention our Envalora distinction, which focuses on the management of industrial packaging waste from materials such as metal, plastic, wood, paper and cardboard. A Social Responsibility strategy can only be understood if actions related to waste and packaging are also carried out, a fundamental part of the final result and framed in the same way in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
