Times and
societies move forward, and with them, our purpose of walking alongside them.
That is why innovation and digitalization are becoming increasingly
important in our company, as we want to provide companies, organizations
and communities with technological equipment solutions in line with their new
needs.
With this
objective, just a few months ago we have closed a sponsorship agreement with
the Chamber of Commerce of Zaragoza to be the official sponsors of the
Smart Society Forum.
What is the Smart Society Forum?
The Smart
Society Forum is a platform linked to the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce where
topics related to the use of smart and connected technologies in society to
improve quality of life, efficiency and sustainability are discussed. These
technologies include the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence,
smart cities or advanced transportation systems, among others.

The
membership agreement was signed by our CEO, Enrique Villaverde, and the
director of the Chamber, José Miguel Sánchez, at the Zaragoza Chamber of
Commerce facilities.

Empowering our smart solutions
As
mentioned above, with this sponsorship we want to make a firm commitment to
innovation and digitalization in the company, which translates practically
into our smart locker solutions, a new line of equipment aimed at businesses
and companies, tourist accommodations, neighborhood communities and many other
types of users with the aim of improving both their profitability and society
and the environment in general terms.
The first day of the Smart Society Forum
The first
meeting of the Forum, held on October 18 at the ITA (Technological Institute of
Aragon), dealt with the mobility of goods in smart cities, an aspect
that we help to address through our technological solutions.
In
particular, and together with other companies in the sector, we discussed such
important issues as:
1. The role
of new smart cities in the efficient and controlled management of goods
unloading in city centers.
2. The
importance of sustainable mobility and the existence of logistics hubs in city
centers to facilitate last-mile logistics.
3. The
relevance of technology and data management for making the right logistics
decisions.
4. The
important role that technological equipment solutions such as smart lockers
will play in this new scenario.
5. The
difficult profitability of last-mile deliveries that many operators are facing.
Along with Megablok,
this first Smart Society Forum was also attended by professionals and
executives such as Miguel Angel Garcia Muro (Councillor for mobility,
digital transformation and transparency of the City of Zaragoza), Diego Artigot
(Director of the office for the promotion of electric mobility (OPME), Javier Moré (CEO and co-founder at Mobel), Alberto
Blanco (CEO at Loalco Green), Raul Benito (President of Eboca) and Miguel Angle
Almalé (Regional Delegate Aragon at Siemens).
